Medical air plants

Medical air plants are mainly composed of an air compressor, a dryer, a filtration set and a pressure receiver.

CENTRALES-DAIR-MEDICAL · AIR

Introduction

GAZ SYSTEMES offers a range of compressed air systems for hospitals, used for medical compressed air and for surgical air systems. Both applications are combined on a single plant: the use of motive air certainly requires more pressure and more flow, however the number of surgical air outlets used at the same time is very low and their use is limited in time.

GAZ SYSTEMES compressed air systems comprise a compressor (which may use different technologies), a compressed air receiver, an air dryer (desiccant or refrigerant), a medical-grade filtration system and a pressure regulator.

Plant composition

The GAZ SYSTEMES medical air plant is composed of the following elements:

  • 1 lubricated screw compressor
  • 1 vitrified AirTANK receiver
  • 1 adsorption air dryer
  • 1 filtration set < 0,01 µm
  • 1 stainless steel sterile antibacterial filter

Adsorption air dryer

The adsorption air dryer supplied by GAZ SYSTEMES is highly efficient and exceeds the specifications of the European Pharmacopoeia:

  • Pressure dew point of −70 °C
  • Contains a catalyst to convert CO into CO₂
  • Contains a CO₂ adsorption tower
  • Contains activated carbon to remove residues, organic compounds and odours

Production of quality air

Using ambient air, these units produce quality air by following the steps below:

  • Compression
  • Drying with an adsorption dryer
  • Complete filtration to obtain the quality required by the European Pharmacopoeia
  • Reduction to 4 bars for medical air and 7 bars for motive air (only for networks with a single pressure reduction level)
