Sizing calculations for distribution systems of medical gases.
Sizing a medical gas distribution system is extremely important to ensure that medical fluids are delivered to the patient with perfect parameters such as flow rate and pressure, without altering the quality of the fluid. GAZ SYSTEMES has the tools and the knowledge to size these piping systems in accordance with international standards such as HTM02-01, EN 7396-1 and NFPA 99.
Locate, assess, then size.
The first part of sizing a medical gas pipeline consists of positioning the terminal units in various locations: inpatient wards, Accident and Emergency, operating theatres, maternity, radiology, intensive care areas, etc.
Once all the terminal units have been located, it becomes possible to assess the diversity factor for each section of the medical pipeline. Finally, knowing the diversity factor of each portion of pipeline as well as the length of a given portion of pipeline, a pressure drop can be determined. The idea is to always keep a reasonable pressure drop below 5% between the production room and the most distant terminal unit.
Feel free to submit your project to our sales team; we will be delighted to contribute to the sizing of your piping system in accordance with the most demanding standards.
